I've read that the RHs which have micro-rollers in
the film channel do a better job at flattening the
film, and they look as though they would. But they
also reduce the length of the image, and there are
many RHs available which don't have them anyway.
Does anyone know of modifications which have proven
successful in improving film flatness? I have thought
of putting strips of a very smooth, slippery plastic
(Teflon?) in the space between the film support rails,
the plastic having a thickness equal to the height of
the film support rails and extending right up to the
edge of the image aperture.
This seems such an obvious trick that maybe someone
has tried it already. RKS
