Hi Dennis,
I plan on using the strips right at the edge of the picture-taking
aperture, oriented with the long axis of each strip extending
transversely across between the raised rails running along the
edges of the aperture. In other words, the strips will be
positioned exactly as the micro-rollers are in backs which have
micro-rollers, EXCEPT that the strips will not encroach on the
length of the negative as the micro-rollers do.
Is there any possibility that the insert, or film carriage, of
your RH8 is not being held in good contact with the front plate of
the holder? If there is a gap, perhaps due to a broken or missing
leaf spring at the back of the holder, then the micro-rollers would
not do much good. RKS
