Hi Bob,
I think the problem is the film flatness because the focus problem is so inconsistent. My RH8 back is a knob wind but it does have the pin rollers.
The thing that is driving me crazy is that I have gotten perfecly sharp negatives in the past. Now I'm not. The only difference I can think of is that the film I've been using for my recent tests is a little older and may have a little inherent curl to it.
I'm going to do a test tommorrow, weather permitting, ground glass focus, horseman frame then RH8 frame. I''ll repeat this for a whole roll. It should give me some answers.
The Horseman back is brand new and I checked the film plane focus with the ground glass last night. It appears to match perfectly.

I'll let you know.

How and where exactly are you planning on using the teflon strips?

DL
