Hi Henry,
Thanks for the reply. That's good news about the lens, I may pick one up myself. By the by, I picked up a horseman 6x9 back the other day and am very happy with it so far.

Here's a possible solution to your lens stop problem. I have a 65 Optar (not that great a lens) which normally rests right on the crack of the bed when in proper position. The other day I wanted to use the drop bed with it so I could use some rise with the lens.

I happen to have a second set of stops which sit slightly recessed on the front board. By using a square spacer I was able to set the lens placement squarely in the rear by using these forward stops, drop the bed and then focus on the ground glass.

You should be able to accomplish the same thing with your 47. Put a set of infinity stops up front then use a spacer to set the lens board square in the rear. This consistency should allow you to make a distance scale to match the lens.

By the way have you tried adjusting the Kalart for the 47 or any other wide lens?

Later, DL
