: Hi Henry,

: I was wondering if you might be the same guy, ie Hermcam, that purchased a 47 with optical finder adapter on ebay a while back?

: That was a beautiful looking package.

: Anyway, I was wondering how that lens was working out, and if you did get or already had the finder for it, how well that is working. I think I may have located an optical finder for my 65 and was wondering if it is a worthwhile pursuit.

: I'm also wondering if you like that 47 and how well it is working out on your camera. I am assuming your'e using a Graflex 2x3.

: I contemplated adjusting my Kalart to the 65 but think I will make my own distance scale as the rangefinder seems to be working fairly well with the 105 Xenar on board.

: Just curious about the 47.

: Thanks, DL

Hi Dennis,

The Optical Finder for the 47mm Super Angulon that slips over the normal Optical Finder works fine, although it is seldom used. I haven't found any method of stops for the short section of the focusing rail and other than scribing a line on it is not too useful for that purpose. The 47mm lens is remarkably sharp edge to edge and do all my focusing by ground glass. Due to the dim light at f8, I was forced to build a box type magnifier enclosure so the focusing screen is kept from extraneous light. It works very well and it is now possible to compose accurately and focus clearly. I still think there is some way of providing flip up stops for the short bed but I haven't found it yet. IF I did I would be able to make use of a bed scale.

Henry
