I'm just throwing this out as a tip. I have a Graflex
flash
that now matter how new the batteries were I'd get about
a 30-40% flash success rate. I never knew if the bulb
(press 25 or like) would go off.
Radio shack sells a fiber glass contact cleaning brush
in the
shape of a pencil. MUCH better than wire or brass! I
cleaned every contact point I
could find-the spring in the bottom, the contact on
top, the contacts between the battery case and the
reflector.(Nothing was really crusty or bad, but not
'bright' either) I even went to the point of using
dialectric grease on the cantacts.(I had some already,
but suspect Radio shack might have that too) And now I
get 100% flash rate!
Just goes to show you (me) you need to clean your
equipment once in a while
