: : My memories of flashbulb days include the discovery that reliable firing increased dramatically when I installed one of Kodak's little B-C packs in place of the flash batteries in my flashgun. It used a little 15 volt battery and gave a strong firing pulse. RKS

: Yeah I considered that but my Anniversary doesn't have an shutter sync and a 60 year old solenoid designed for 4.5v doesn't last too long at 85-100 volts, not to mention a "delay problem" that's hard to solve.

Actually, when I looked up that old Kodak Flashpak last night, I discovered that it used a 22.5 volt battery, not 15 volt. It was claimed to be able to fire up to 6 flash bulbs simultaneously, but I don't know about handling solenoid current, and I have no idea whether the solenoid delay would be affected, but I would think it might.
