In order to inspect this Range Finder, I have to take it
off
of the camera body. It is not quite the same unit illustrated
in the on-line manual so I can't get at the internals with
the
unit in place. I've inspected the internals, but have not
found
anything obviously out of the ordinary. I've tried
calibrating
at infinity and 15 ft after confirming focus on the ground
gl_ss
with a magnifier. The front and back slide adjustments end up
in
their maximum positions and the unit is still slightly out of
calibration.
I've used the laser method too to verify and it also confirms a
slightly out
of calibration condition. I would like to achieve calibration
with
the front/back positioners close to mid-range to permit future
minor
adjustments.
This camera was equipped with a roll back. Test pics were all
slightly
out of focus, which led me down this path. I re-installed the
ground gl_ss back
to allow me to visually check focus with a magnifier, but intend
to
use the roll back so I need the Range Finder to work.
