1. Battery 510 volt "standard No. 497 high voltage dry battery to directly supply the needed +450 volt power" the battery is very hard to find now days. (copy of manual with schematic purchased on EBAY)
2. There was also a RG battery case that used rechargable NiCads. I purchased one of these on EBAY and replaced the 4 sub C NiCads and was able to construct an extra battery from readily available parts. Hopefully I will be able to soon publish an article on this site about this.
3. As luck would have it I happened to have an old 450v
photoflash transformer in my goodie box,
was able to also make a AC powered unit using the battery box to
hold the transformer. Works great!
The bad news is I have searched the web and can't find any 450v
transormers to recommend.
