: : : Graflex provided Focusing Scales as sets for very
: : : specific focal length lenses. On the reverse of each
: : : scale there is a Serial Number for that focal length.
: : : Does any former Graflex employer- or is there any
: : : data in Graflex's archives listing what the Code
: : : Numbers for each Focusing Scale?
: : ----------------------
: : Have never seen any listings--I have parts manuals
: : for the Pacemakers--and it states "Calibrated
: : scales are not procurable separately--they must
: : be matched to actual focal length" which means to
: : me that you buy their lens--and they provide the
: : scale
: When a lens was sent to Graflex it was to measure
: the exact focal length, not the nominal stated
: focal length. They then matched a scale. They did
: that by selecting from their array of scales, each
: of which were engraved with part numbers. The
: question I asked was "do you know the coding
: system used by Graflex"? Do you know it"? Or
: where I might get that information?
------------------------------------------
You answered your own question--there were no
STOCK scales--the scales varied in length, and
mounting hole location (per focal lgth)--that is the number you find on the backs, each lens varied "slightly" only for engraving purposes!
