Hello!
I saw a 20" Wollensak Telephoto on a pacemaker board offered *******. Does anyone here know anything about this model lens? Will it cover 5x7? I have a 15" Wolly tele(yellow dot) on a Keystone F-8 and it gives great results. Would the 20"er be more of the same? Just curious about the possibilites of using one(gently of course) on a 5x7 Speeder.
Thanks!

I've chucked the 15" tele on my 8x10 and it will "iluminate" the ground glass.....I didn't say it was sharp.
I think you'd be fairly safe with this on 5x7 as long as you weren't looking to shoot chrome and blow it up to railroad terminal size. I think you'd be safe with a 10x14 or 16x20.
Now a word about this beast. The shutter it's in isn't original, nor is the lens board. The scale that's on it is for a convertable lens. If your lucky the proper scale would be underneath, but don't expect it.
At the very least you'll have to send it to Grimes for a new scale...about $40-60.
Minimum focus distance on a Crown was 25 feet. With the 5x7 you should do much better. |
