I was wondering what Mr. Lustig ususally charges to restore a Speed Graphic in reasonably good condition. I would want both shutters CLA'ed the infinity checked, and the rangedinder accutized. Other than some bumpy leather, nothing else is wrong with the camera. I realize that pricing is on a camera by camera basis, but was looking for a general ballpark from those who have used his services before. I am also not in a hurry, but what is the usual turnaround time. |

Why not call him and ask him? He's very easy to talk to. His number is in this article: http://www.graflex.org/news/lustig.html

Well I called Fred today. Very nice and easy to talk to. His prices are competitive, a plus considering he specializes in the equipment. In most cases, barring something major wrong he charges about $85.00 for front shutter repair, $17.00 to $25.00 to put the front track assembly in good order, another $15.00 or so to fix my broken body release. He is also going to resent the infinity stops, focusing scale and rangefiner, the price varies on the type of work he has to do. Looks like my Pacemaker Speed Graphic (4x5) is going out in the next few days! |
