...Seems like nothing would ever happen without me and my frequent questions. Anyhow, I have just received my latest (and last until I hit it big in Vegas next month) camera, a pre-anniversary Speed Graphic. Thought I would use it for parts because the pictures and description on ebay made it sould like it was crap, but it is in great cosmetic condition, just need to work on the bellows. From the pictures it looked like someone had cobbled together some sort of Polaroid film adapter from the original back, but upon closer examination it looks almost factory made. Here is what I have: a Speed Graphic back just slightly differnt in the shape of the corners is just a fracion larger than the body itself, with slightly different leather. The hardware has the same "oxidized silver" finish as the rest of the camera's hardware. The back itself says "Premo Film Pack Adapter." Manufactured by Eastman Kodak. I hear "filmpack" and I think polaroid, but this adapter is clearly about the same age as the camera. I'm not so familiar with what film pack this may be... anyone who could shed some light on this would be of great help. And while I wait I shall conduct a google search. Thanks.

And three minutes later I find the answer... My adapter is in pretty shot condition, but looks like it can be easily restored. Do the film packs come up on auction oftern?

Sorry, Jeff, but Film Pack adapters are "a dime a dozen". Unfortunately, Kodak, the last maker of film packs, ceased production many years ago. All film packs, if you could find one, are now out of date. So you just have a curiosity, a part of history. The slide might be good for something. |

Yeah, did a sarch and they average about $10 - $15... pretty gool looking bugger though. The slide mount in the back looks like it might accept one of those Polaroid pack film backs (I have never had much sucess with them). Will make a good display piece, and I'd love to find one of the outdated Koday boxes so I could have the bag sticking out for display purposes. So now I get to look around for a pre-anniversary back. Fortunately, this will not by my using camera, so no hurry.
