I've been reading rec.photo.equipment.large-format since I got started with the Graphic. There have been reports of LF photographer gatherings in the midwest which sounded like fun. Is anybody interested in doing such a thing out here in the greater Washington DC area? It'd be nice to share the stares when I take the camera out.

Share the stares? Just what have you been wearing that causes stares? |

| Stares? You mean onlookers don't smile at you and tell you that you really know what you're doing? |

No. Apparently I look like a dangerous lunatic or something , since the usual reaction I get is people standing off at a distance pointing and talking to each other rather than asking me what I'm doing. (Or maybe I just look so preoccupied that they don't want to bother me...)
I still think it would be fun to go out in a group.

I think the idea of a "gathering" is a fine idea, but one wonders (or at least I do) what a gathering of Graflex users would be called?
I know that a gathering of geese is a gaggle, a gathering of crows is a murder and a gathering of lions is a pride, but just what would a gathering of Graflex users be called?
Still, it would be rather a lot of fun to see a dozen or so persons strolling down the street carrying all manners of Graflex cameras, one wonders if a passerby would think to call the police.
Any thoughts or ideas for names of a gathering of Graflex users?

I get stared at when I take my Graphic out in public, too. Of course, I'm usually dressed like this when I do... |
