Measure the opening in the back and get a piece of ground glass the same size +0/-1/32 inch.
On each side of the long side (called landscape orientation) there should be a clamp with 2 screws. Remove the screws and clamps, install the glass ground side toward the front standard/lens, install the retainer clamps and screws. Tighten the screws only enough to touch the clamps then tighten each screw 1/2 turn or less until they are tight (tighten one screw on one side 1/2 turn then the one diagionally across from it 1/2 turn, repeat for the other two screws). Tighten only enough to firmly hold the glass in place. Uneven pressure will crack the glass as will over tightening. On some cameras the clamp/retainer slips over the end of the glass.

Does he need a ground glass with a Fresnel lens?
