I have a 2-D Cell (#2772) flash unit with a 5-inch reflector for my Graflex, which I'm looking forward to using for blinding people at parties...

That being said, I've heard that there is an occasional risk of flashbulbs shattering, and that its a good idea to use a clear shield in front of the reflector. Considering that I want something that doesn't look out of place and keeps the general look-and-feel of the system, what recommendations do people have?

If there is an original shield part, what is it called? (in sufficient terms that I might be able to google it or find it on eBay)
If there are alternatives that still look good and go well with it aesthetically, what are people using?

There was some discussion of this subject on the Flash Help forum a few months back. You might find the info you want by looking there.

Try this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/vintage-ansco-flash-shield-diffuser-camera-photography_W0QQitemZ400012465134QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5d2299d3ee&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

or search this item # on ebay; 400012465134

Ansco flash shield. Not as aesthetically pleasing as the clip-on style but functional.

I ran across that a few days ago, actually. It kinda looked like an old melted hunk of plastic. But I'm guessing it might be a more flexible plastic cover. Still might look a bit funny on the thing.
