I just picked up a late model Crown Graphic with Schneider Kreuznach 135mm f/4.7 in Synchro Compur P shutter in surprisingly good shape. It's my first foray into large format. I've also picked up a Fuji PA-45 film holder and some Fuji FP-100C45. I don't have any film holders yet so no transparency or negative film.

I looked at the Rangelite, the original bulb looks good and the original block of wood is still there. I've answered my first question by searching graflex.org and I believe that the batteries are just two AAs?

I've seen conflicting reports of what size filter holder the lens will take, 40.5mm or 38mm. I have a 40.5mm holder and many Series VI filters but the 40.5mm is too large. Can anyone confirm that it's 38mm?

I have a question about readyloads and quickloads but I'll put that in the other forum later.

Hi,
I have my 38mm Kodak Series VI adapter in my hand. It has the following inscription: KODAK SERIES VI ADAPTER RING 1 1/2 IN.- 38mm MADE IN U.S.A.

According to "The Book", Kodak Series VI adapter rings were made in the following sizes: 1 1/4, 1 5/16, 1 3/8, 1 13/32, 1 7/16, 1 15/32, 1 1/2, 1 9/16, 1 5/8, 1 21/32. The next size listed is 1 11/16 in Series VII.

The size 40.5 mm comes out to about 1.59 inch. You can measure the outside diameter of you lens to get a closer idea of the size to look for.

I guess that I could get a digital camera but it would be obsolete in a couple of years (three tops). Or I could use my 3x4 Anniversary Speed Graphic. Heck, it's been obsolete for 50 years. That's way better than digital.

The 135mm Xenar uses internally threaded 40.5mm filters, or if you can find a Series VI filter adapter with a 40.5mm thread, You'll be all set.

Series VI retaining ring thread is 44mm. I own 44-49, 44-52, and 44-55 step-up rings to accommodate my various 35mm camera filters to the Century w/Graphex shutters + Optar lenses. The 44-55 adapter is available from B&H Photo; the others I picked up at camera shows.
