I wanted a 45 Pre-Anniversary to use as a parts donor for mine.
I found one where you know.
I got it.
I received it this morning.
So I am now the happy ( but a bit disappointed ) owner of a very nice 34 camera !
Only me to blame, I never realized it was not a 45, pics spoke by themselves, and I never asked about size.
Quarter-plate lovers here ? I have questions to ask...

Well, serial # is A blank 95512.
Am I right assuming 195512 is more correct ?
1936-37 ?
95512 is stamped the usual way, A is a bit off and hesitant, blank has been rubbed off by the rail when closing camera.
A close look could not tell whether there was something stamped long ago or not.
Kalart RF looks like a later addition, could it explain the A in the serial ? Factory modification ?
IMHO it's ugly, and it prevents easy positionning of finger on trigger.
What do I do ? Keep it or remove it ? Opinions please.

That is indeed later model rangefinder. I have a couple of these 3X4 pre-Anniversary Speed Graphics. They were never fitted with rangefinders. The rangefinder that would have been used at the time the camera was built would have probably been the one that had an arm that wrapped around the front edge of the camera case and extended back toward the rear of the focus track. I can't remeber the model of that one. I believe it was just called the Kalart Accessory Rangefinder. _________________ Glenn

Well 195511 should be the LAST of a batch of 3x4 Speeds from 1936. 195512 SHOULD be the first of a batch of 3x4 Autos. Perhaps they ran the serial number stamping machine one time too many and to fudge the figures they created a 3x4 Auto with 195512 and a 3x4 Speed with A195512 _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

Georges,
Nice looking Pre-Anniversary Speed. I Like the 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 format. There are very few factory emulsions available so I cut film down from 8 x 10. You can get five 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 pieces from one 8 x 10.
Just remember, There are no bad Graphics.

Georges.
If I need to develop a couple of sheets, I use a tray OR
if I have a larger batch to process I have several old FR adjustable film pack developing tanks. These are made of bakelite plastic and can be used for different sizes from 4x5 down to 2 1/4 x 3 1/4.
The FR stands for Fink Roselieve
