Can anyone out there enlighten me as to the purpose of this plastic clip? This one is on a top rangefinder Crown (excuse the dust!) but I have a couple on Speeds as well. I've never seen a photo of anything mounted in the clip and I can't find anything in my parts drawer that fits.

Any help appreciated!
Cheers,

These are usually found on Crown Specials. It held/ holds old style cable releases, the one with the small chrome body and a threaded lock if any. (not the ones with a locking collar)
These kinds of cable releases are still around if you look closely, I ordered a bunch from freestyle I think. _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

My Century Graphic also came with this clip and the cable release that it was designed to hold. It was a cheap alternative to the release built into the side-mounted handle accessory for those cameras, and worked well. |

Thank you gentlemen, I can sleep now instead of lying awake, wondering!
