I have a 60-year old Graflex Speed Graphic camera that was used by my father when he was a semi-pro photographer back in the 40's and 50's. I have a photograph of my father holding this camera that I display in my home. I would like to have it restored so that I can display it. Is there someone reputable in the New York area, or even someone that I can send the camera to? I have the flashbulb attachment as well as about 30 to 40 negative slides. I do not know what condition the bellows are in; I have not opened the camera for fear of damaging it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since this item has very high sentimental value.

Fred Lustig in Reno, Nevada is the man you want. If you search this site you will find his info. He has no internet presence, just his home phone. The premier Graflex repairman.

I don't know if this is current or stale, but the return address on some parts Fred Lustig sent me in JAN '06 had the following address & phone number:
4790 Caughlin Pkwy., #433
Reno, NV 89509
775-746-0111

Hope that helps, if it is stale info someone else will probably update us both.

Wow, he sold you parts?! I tried that for a return spring for my RH10, and it was no go---he had to replace it himself. So, add in cost of shipping, time wasted for that, plus waiting for him to get to it, etc.

Lustig has not always been dependable for me, and he would not be my first choice for repairs. Unfortunately, he has the genuine parts, so if the job needs those you may be stuck.

I had the same problem, and same experience. After I got it back (much quicker than I had expected) I was quite happy - Fred put my RH-10 back into "like new operational condition". It was well worth the wait!

Tom
The information posted below is still correct, I just sent him a 2x3. He said that it would be out about 2 months, will post back when I get it. Good luck

I have had him do two cameras for me (not full restoration, repair and adjustment) plus I have on two occasions bought parts from him. He is a little slow to answer his mail but his turnaround is reasonable and if you are able to actually go there he can sometimes do a while you wait quickie repair.
