I print/enlarge them on F4 paper...or use Multigrade with the filter that gives me the "snap" I want. |

The original is most likely not bland: it's subtle mood is palpable although the manipulation removes most of this.
I hope you don't mind - I've tried to recapture the feint summer-esque mood of litheness in the rework - more akin to what clnfrd would achieve using traditional techniques, although lith printing would perhaps be a closer analogy:

It is quite a task after all the torture your beautiful negative must have experienced in photoshop.
