Would anyone know when Graflex ceased manufacture of the knob-wind 120 film backs and began making the lever-wind ones with pin rollers. Also, I’ve noticed various colors of the levers in different offerings on eBay. Is there any significance in these colors?

Dont know the date, but most of the lever models were made when Singer took over the company,(late 60's, early 70's I think)when the 35mm market began to take over sales!

Singer name is also on many of the Graflok backs of that period! The roll film back I have by Singer, has a red handle, (so assume red handle to be Singer), my black handle was made by Graflex Inc. Bert

Bert is your red handled one a 6x6?

I think the first generation of these were color coded for neg size, Iknow of yellow and blue, one is 6x9 one is 6x7 I think, or it may be both are 6x7 and one is 120 and the other 220. Originally the lever, darkslide and a dot on the body were all the same, that way you could tell at a glance what they were. Later they dropped the idea and just went to all black. I know I've seen all black versions with the Graflex Singer label on them. My lever winds say General Prescision on them. |

				| One of my three 23's has pin rollers, they look pretty neat to have been added. Do you Think maybe the latest 23's had the rollers when built. Also I have noticed the knob winds seem to be smoother than the lever winds. Russ |
