Was there a distance scale made for a 210mm lens? I've got a spare post war Speed Graphic (side mount RF) and am looking at leaving this lens on more or less permanently with the RF adjusted to suit.
If it does exist, can someone supply a part number so I can start hunting on eBay. Better still, perhaps some kind soul could scan it (and any others) and I could make my own.
thanks,

Someone will undoubtedly argue differently, but I haven't found the scales for Pacemakers to be very accurate for anything but infinity, with everything else sort of horse shoes and hand grenades. I would make my own and reference GG to measuring tape. I did find a scale for 127 that worked well with a 135 lens a few weeks ago.

I guess that couldn't be too hard. Just glue a piece of paper over the existing scale and mark the new distances on. |

No, Graflex did not make a focussing scale for a 210mm lens. The scales at the top of the list were: 203, 254, 10", 270 and 381mm. |

I'd double check your RF before you set up the lens. The pre-war Kalart F could be adjusted up to 210, but I think the far more common Kalart E topped out in the mid 160 range.

I wouldn't glue anything to your Camera. Try usine a simple piece of nicely cut white tape first and if you like it you can easily make something more permanent later. Ever try to get old tape or glue off of something after it ages?
The later side mount Kalart will easily adjust out to a 162mm with a full range of focus. I currently have a 7-1/2" Paragon running on one of my Speeds and theKalart still has more adjustment left. WhatI find is that the limit will be on how soon you run out of useable range as the RF coupling arm swings out as you run the rails out. Put another way, the longer the lens the farther the the distance the RF will synch with the lens. For example, the 135 Optar will have a useable close distance at about 3ft. I calibrated the 7-1/2" down to 4ft without any trouble. If I have time I may try to set up a 203mm lens before Saturday and can post results if I get to it, or anyone is interested. I don't think it will pose any problems but I will have to alter the set up distances out about five feet I believe, and figure I will have a useable range from about ten feet to infinity if I have enough arm travel. There are a couple other adjustments on the Kalart also that are not mentioned in the set up procedure but one must understand the internal workings of the two stage camming effect and how it relates to focal length. Less is more if that makes sense.
