I'm planning to mount an Aero Ektar to my 4x5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic, and was wondering if DIY adjustment of the Kalart RF to a new FL is feasible?

The RF is currently calibrated (sorta) for the Ektar 127/4.7, which is the original lens that came with it.
I was wondering if adjusting it for 178mm Aero Ektar would be feasible for a DIY job?

I've fiddled with Kalart RF before on my 2x3 Pacemaker, and I'm somewhat aware of the issues involved - more precisely, I've realized it's not exactly a 5 minute job

I'm reasonably equipped for the task (all fingers present) , and have a reasonably good loupe to check the GG.

How would the above adjustment be done?

by following the procedure in the link here:

http://www.graflex.org/speed-graphic/kalart-adjustment.html

(Adjusting Kalart rangefinder), or is there something else?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Regards,

Denis

Denis,
Use the online Kalart manual link
http://www.graflex.org/speed-graphic/kalart-manual.html
and all should go well or you will be able to reset to the 127 without trouble.

I've heard that it's easier now to calibrate a rangefinder, you just shine a laser pen through it onto the wall until the two points come together.

Has anyone had any experience doing this?
