Is there a common fix to a frozen lever that moves from the front to the back shutter...it's frozen on front and the focal plane cloth is in the way for focussing and exposing. Maybe it's just plain old broken?? Appreciate any help.

Thanks...I tried that, and it doesn't move in any direction at all. The lever sits in a groove and only has room, it seems, to move upward, which it won't do.
Any other ideas??

Suggest that you remove the side plate--2 wood screws on top--4 machine screws on lower half--see if the lever will work--pinch the lever between your forefinger and thumb, push down and upwards--if it moves this time, there should be spring tension against it--if there is tension against it, rotate the wind lever one click counterclockwise!
If this still does not help, must be something broken inside, so email me, I will send instructions and photos on resetting everything back to normal, after disassembly!
