I recently acquired a Pacemaker 23 Crown Graphic and am trying to learn how to use it. I finally got a roll of chrome to look good.

I have read instructions on dropping the front bed, buy cannot get this to happen. Is it possible that my camera does not have this feature? Serial number is 730139.

It has the feature. To drop the bed, use the focusing knobs to move the bed as far backwards into the body as possible. Then press down on the bed struts, using one hand on each strut. It will drop.

To bring the bed back to its normal position, repeat the process, making sure to move it as far backwards as possible before trying to move it. If you try to drop or "un-drop" the bed with the rails not as far back as possible, you risk damaging the links that connect inner and outer rails and the blocks that hold the inner rails. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! All the way back or else.

Good luck, have fun,

Dan

They all have a drop bed. These can be annoyingly difficult until you get used to them. My favorite way - stick the front of the bed against your tummy, press down on the bed braces to release them and pull the body up. A fat gut helps. I know from experience. BTW, don't forget that you MUST have the focus rail either all the way in or all the way out of the box when you drop the bed. If you do it wrong, you will say very many bad words.
