Anyone got tips on getting these to time correctly? Mine works, but the slow speeds are too long and the high speeds seem too short. The high speeds also do not seeem to be much different from each other. I have not yet given it the R-bath; that may be next. I have looked the shutter over, and the works seem to be in good shape. The pneumatic cylinder and piston are clean with no corrosion. |

The only thing I've done with mine was to polish the cylinder a bit with polishing compound ( a finer grade than rubbing compound, both sold by dupont)
then go over the cylinder with a soft pencil (graphite) and slip it back in.
I'm not saying my speeds are dead on, but they work.

The DuPont products Les mentioned are sold in auto parts stores. For a really fine abrasive, you can also use toothpaste. I have polished plastic watch crystals with the toothpaste-on-finger method, and it works great. |
