I haven't found any s/n info on the Xenar lenses. I'm still trying to date my CG; maybe I can cross reference one or the other. (lens is 135/4,7 Xenar)
The shutter has the older shutter speed series 1/10,1/25, 1/50, 100, etc. Does this set a 'no newer than' date?
Thanks

Make that www.schneideroptics (plural) and it works. 1968; I'll assume camera is from same era (haven't found any date code yet).
Odd to see single digit postal code (Rochester 7, NY, or whatever) for late 60's (best I can remember I had a 5-digit zip growing up. The single digit ones were quaint even then).

Does your camera have a top RF or the older side mounted Kalart? If it is the older side mount, someone changed out the lens later on in life. Run out the focus rack and look underneath and see if there is a number embossed on the cross member... Maybe that will help. Xenars can be very good lenses, and the 135 is no slouch if in good cond.

Top RF.
Lens was CLA'ed because previous owner really screwed it up. Main spring was broken and they had strung an external one between the cocking lever and the lensboard slide screw. Seemed ingenious until the repair guy got inside. The shutter leaves were all burred. He asked me if I was the culprit and when I denied it, he just should his head and muttered about how bad it was, but it's fixed and CLA'ed & he stuck to his $ quote.
I've shot a couple well-past-expiration Polacolor 59's but who know's what that'll tell me - they're kind of psychadelic (spelling?). I'll practice with them and then try real film. They're 4-5 or so years past date and froze in the garage a couple winters. No harm using them since they don't cost me anything (got 4 boxes with the camera), and I can try image transfer too.
