Anyone know where or if 225 volt batteries are available for the graflex stroboflash 2?
Ones that are in it are Mallory pf-489. Russ

I just checked at Newark, and each 225 V. is now $93.00+ s&h.

What would it take to put together your own rechargeable battery pack, the same size and shape as the 225's or less, using AA's rechargeables wired in series and packed together with the same female plugs on top as the 225's

The height being 106.4 mm. ( 4.20 in.) X
length- 110.3 mm. ( 4.35 in.) X
thickness- 68.3 mm. ( 2.70 in.)

In 4.35 -4.45 in. is 7 or 8 , AA's wide and
in 2.70- 2.775 in. , is 5 AA's wide. That would be one pack of 40 AA's, where two packs high would be 3.965 in. high +.250 space for wire or flat bands soldered to contacts and plugs. And wrapped in milk carton paper and shrink wraped.

One 40 cell pack, ( 1.5 V. x 40 = 60V.) two packs to form one unit = 120V. And two of these units would give 240V. of rechargeable storage in the Stroboflash II's battery pack holder, the capacitors being reformed would give off usable voltage to the flash head.

I did not brake down costs for all parts from Radio Shack, to put this together, but it's got to cost less than $100.00 a whack.
Now if I could just find a flashhead, for the Stroboflash II. unit, I'll be over.

One more thing!
Does anyone have instructions or user manuel for the Honeywell Strobonar flash units 52-A, or link to same? Thanks!

I haven't delved into the wiring of a Strobo, but I thought they used the pair of batteries in series, so the machine needs 510v, I did take apart one of these 200v batts and they were packed with batteries about thesize of an elongated quarter, and 1/8 thick, all wired in series.
