I have two Miniatures (Pre-Anni). I know that the Ektar has EO which is 1946, but the question is...what is the difference between the two models? Is one older than the other? The one with the Ektar lens has the Speed Graphic logo with one line and the words are in italics and the other has the Speed Graphic logo with two lines and the words are a normal font.
Kind of like this:
=========== --------------
Speed Graphic vs. Speed Graphic
=========== --------------

Why not check the serial #s? The lower number would be the earlier camera.
Conventional wisdom says the italic nameplate is post war, and the later style.

(whose Mini also has an EO Ektar and italic nameplate). |

Serial numbers are located where exactly?
I have only seen info about the Ektar lenses to be used as an approximate age identifier.

Open the camera, but don't pull the standard out. put your finger on the bed latch at the top, just inside the body. Now move the same finger to the right about an inch and a half. You'll feel the number stamped into the wood.
Putting a small flashlight on a rakish angle helps, turning the camera upside down helps too.

Thanks!
The serial numbers are clear as day.
My older one is in FANTASTIC shape. Funny, I thought the one with more wear would have been the older of the two.
The serials begin with 357 and 374.

I've had half a dozen 4x5 Annys, but the last one I bought was the earliest, and the best to date (and the last one, I hope). As I unwrapped it I thought 'this couldn't have been a pro camera'. All the others looked like press room/supply room veterans. My '45 black paint Anny most likely IS a veteran.
I also collect Contax 35mm cameras, and the oldest (1937) is the best of the lot.
