I have no idea what this is, it looks like a piece of junk, around the lens is printed:
No 2 Acme Synchro F4.5 -f32 Speeds T, B, 1, 2, 3, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 300.
Ilex Optical Co ILEX Rochester, N.Y. On the side is 2 prongs for an electrical plug I imagine for a flash attachment which was with the camera, below that 23tl, 20 bl, 5 wh 0rd. I have no idea what this means. Inside it says Coated F:4.5 101mm. Anyone know anything about this lens. Is it worth keeping. The speeds seem good at fast speeds and perhaps off at slower speeds of 1/10 second down to 1 sec.

The Ilex Acme is a cock-and-shoot shutter.

The mysterious markings "23tl, 20 bl, 5 wh 0rd" have to do with flash synchronization, there should be a lever to select. Use "0 rd" for electronic flash.

If there's no indication of who made the lens, then it is a small mystery.

101 mm F:4.5 sounds like a normal lens for 2x3. Put it on a board on your Century and try it out.

Good luck,

Dan

Deffinitely a piece of junk! I'd suggest you just get rid of it. I would even be happy to take it off your hands for free

Hey, any Ilex shutter with synch is worth ahving. You could always find other cells to put into it. If it was a number 4 I'd even offer to buy it off you...

But like Dan says, give it a try and it might suprise you. If not, then save the shutter for one of those great deals that can be found on lens cells...

The lens is physically much too large for 2 1/4 x 3 1/4, it came with a Baby Speed Graphic and the front in had been jury rigged, rough, and the slide holders for the lens mount cut out to accept the large lens. The bottom holder also has a large cut out to hold the lens. The diameter of the lens OD is about 68mm or 2 3/4 inches. Covers the front end completely. No way to fit it to my Century. And this Graphic has a spring back and I have no roll film holder for it. So I have found place to buy the right size sheet film for it but no one wants to develop it. I used to do it all in my dark room, but that has been gone for 35 years now. May have to start over. Is there a place on the forum where images can be posted? If so I will send some pictures of this badly mangled camera front end and the large lens also. I forget google all time but I did find some info there and especially those flash numbers on the side. I need to get out my 40 year old SunPack, the first strobe that I had. I will fit it up and fire the lens and see if that works.
