Question... The viewing lens on my Graflex 22 needs re-adjusting and my problem is that when I screw out the lens to match focus with the taking lens, I can't lock it in that position. This camera was bought at a flea market and I'm not 100% sure it is complete. Is there some sort of retainer on the inside for this or not? Thanks. |

Is the taking lens focusing at the correct distance? Does the distance scale indicate the correct distance? The taking and viewing lens can be correct and the distance scale off. Take a test roll (if you haven't done so) using a tape measure and measuring form the film plane to the subject at several distances shooting at wide open. Take notes on focused distance, indicated diatance, and exposure. If errors occur then put the tape measure fully extended along a fence and shoot down the fence wide open noting the focused on distance and then observing the in focus distance.
Verify that lens standard is square to camera body. The lead edge of the viewing lens on mine is approximately 4mm futher back from the lead edge of the taking lens.
