The 135 Optar takes a 38mm (1-1/2") series VI slip ring and series VI filters. Series VI thread is 44mm. You can look for a 44-55 step ring to accommodate 55mm screw-on filters. These 44-55 step rings are not easy to find, but if you do, then you can screw your 55mm threaded filters into the 44-55 step ring, and screw that into the 44mm retainer ring threads on the slip ring, which you will mount on the front element of the Optar.

It might be simpler in the long run to just acquire the series VI filters that you need. All of this series stuff will have to be bought used (camera shows, uBuy, photo stores with "junk" drawers, etc.) since it is no longer being made.

The next option is to get the slip on series VI adapter and then find a step up ring to 55 that comes close to fitting/pressing adapting to the slip on ring.

At one point I found a step up ring whose small I.D. pressed around the outside of the Series VI adatper ring. a bit of epoxy and it worked fine.
