Maybe not so weird really. I found a Pacemaker CG with a top and a side RF. Kalart on side and typical focus spot top RF. Anyone got an idea why both would be on one body? Its kinda cool, one focuses horizontally and the other vertically. But the added weight is noteable and I'm thinking there must have been some kind of good reason for having both. Focus scale is for 250mm. Nothing else out of the ordinary. |

My guess is that each one was calibrated for a different lens. |

My thoughts exactly at first. But... no second set of infinity stops and both RF's are spot on for the 10" optar. Now maybe the factory intended for it to be for two lenses and the owner never got the second one. Thats a possibility too I suppose.
I got it chreap, never even looked at the photos of the body. I bid on it for the lens. I always wanted but never owned the 10" optar. The camera body was of no real intereest to me. I was actually surprised when I found out I had won the bidding. The shutter needs some work and it goes out today for service, so I'll be putting film behind it in a few weeks. Originally, I was going to sell the body (don't need another 4x5 lying around), but its an oddity and it cost me next to nothing. Now I don't know what I'll do with it. Its starting to grow on me. |
