Good morning, good day and good evening, everybody!

I just got myself a 1941 Speed Graphic (YAY!) and am currently playing around with it to get used to it as good as possible. I have noticed that my lens (Kodak 127mm) is not working properly. I can still use the camera's other shutter, so I can take pictures...) The lens` shutter doesn't seem to close perfectly when not cocked. As soon as the camera is cocked, the shutter is closed perfectly, but when in "normal" position, the shutter is always open at about f/32. Furthermore, the very long shutter speeds (.5 sec, 1 sec) and the delayed action timer are sticky and won't fire most of the time. Will taking the lens apart and cleaning it (how?) help or will I have to find myself an new lens if I want to use the front shutter?

I have included a page about shutter cleaning on my Kodak Web site. That information would apply to any between the lens shutter. I describe flood cleaning, not disassembly, which I wouldn't attempt if you have had no training in shutter maintenance.
