I have two Graflex cameras and am looking for the model and hopefully a user manual. One is equipped with a Zeiss lens, patented 1903 and is not functional. The other is functional. The lens is a Kodak Ektar f4.7/model # RE906. Does anyone have an info on this model? Where would I be able to find a user manual, etc? Thanks. |

I don't think you've given enough info on either camera to permit an ID. However, with a little effort on your part, performing basic research on the Graflex.org site, you would have found this section which might help:

Please be aware that the lens on a "Graphic" is interchangeable, and one can't tell whether it originally was supplied with the body. The Graflex historians on this site will need some information about the bodies, not the lens equipment. |

The information given is much like trying to name the animal while blind folded and allowed only to touch the tail.
However, IF and it's a big if, these are the original lenses, then some educated guesses can be made. Most of the Zeiss Tessars came on Pre Anniversary Speeds or early Anniversary Speeds.
The serial number of the Ektar says that it was made in '54, so it's probably a side Rangefindered Pacemaker. I invite you use the link provided in the first post and do some digging Then come back and ask more specific questions.

Thank you for your kind response. I'm new to bulletin boards as well as to the Graflex site. You were correct in your assumptions. It appears to be a Pacemaker Speed Graphic, circa 1947-1955 as the rangefinder is mounted on the side. So for right now I'm assuming the lens is the original and is dated 1954. I'll keep digging. Thanks again! |

| If you post your camera's serial number and ask nicely, Gandalf the guru of Graflex' serial numbers will tell you when your camera was made.

Oh "Great One" I would forever be in your debt if you would impart your wisdom to me. The serial number is 868565. Thanks. |
