| FWIW, I routinely use my 4"/2 & 12"/4 lenses, both in barrel, with my 2x3 Pacemaker Speed's FPS. When I first got the camera I checked the FPS' speeds by shooting test trips with the 101 Ektar. Yes the shutter is noisy and yes it stops with a bang, but vibration hasn't been a problem.
Now that you have a little reassurance, try yours and see for yourself what it does and doesn't do. |

| Sun of a gun! Super Sixes are (a) like hens teeth and (b) some are improbably valuable. Last year a 152/1.9 brought $US 1,475 on eBay and a 6"/1.9 brought $US 1,391.
My 4"/2.0 Taylor Hobson Anastigmat (2 1/4 x 2 1/4) covers 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 wide open. Mine is ex-Vinten F95. What did yours come from?
Mind you, the lens is much much sharper from f/5.6 down than at f/2, f/2.8, and f/4. But at the wider apertures the center is as good (or bad) as the corners.
How do you intend to mount yours? Mine is held to a 2x3 Pacemaker Graphic board by an externally-threaded flange. The board is clamped between flange and lens. Tidy arrangement, but the lens makes infinity with the front standard on the inner rails.
This makes squaring up the front standard a little difficult, also getting good rangefinder coupling. A solution that works well is to make a spacer that fits between the front standard and a pair of infinity stops on the outer rails. Set the infinity stops as usual, set up the RF as usual, and Bob's your uncle.
Cheers,
