The best source for small hardware of this type is your local hobby
shop (model railroaders use these little machine screws all the
time). But you're right about 4-40 being more common than 4-80; the
usual sizes are 00-90, 0-80, 1-72, 2-56, 3-48, 4-40, etc. I never
heard of a 4-80 in model rr work, but I'd still try the hobby shop
just on the off chance they may be able to help.
