In Reply to: 3x4 anniv lens problem posted by Leo Douglas on February 15, 2001 at 09:58:49:: I have acquired a 3x4 anniv. sn 255174 w hugo meyer rf. The
lens is in a No1 supermatic shutter (no synch), but clearly is not
original. Lens has NO markings and is very short focus. At infinity
stops image is in focus at 8 inches, infinity appears to be under 4
inches. The bellows is inside the box at that point. How can I tell
what the rangefinder (model 2c)was designed for? Was a 135mm
standard? a 127?

RF's were not designed for any particular lens>>
they were used with interchangable lens choices!
127mm thru 12" were avail for the 3x4 model--8 or
more lenses were avail for this camera! The No 1 shutter apparently
was a wide angle lens, and not
suitable or common on this camera!! Inf by the way,
is measured at 1/2 mile from lens, so I would
suspect that the bed scale does not match the
lens either!
