I'm wondering if that isn't what happened, myself. There are two
parts of the XL back here, the focusing panel, including the
Graflok hooks, and the rest of the back which has the 4 lugs. Of
course, the part with the lugs won't fit, because of the lugs. The
panel however is just like any other GG panel on a 23 Graflex
camera having a Graflok back, [the part you take off the Century
when you unhook the back from the camera, for instance, to install
a roll-film back] so it fits fine. Maybe they were changing the
backs to include the Ektalite screen at the end of the run of the
Century cameras.
