If you have a non rangefieder model and don't have a focusing scale there isn't a real need to move the stops. When you use the lens, open the lens and pull it out until it's roughly in focus, lock it down, then use the rails to fine focus. This is how it's down on monorail cameras.
The standard procedure is to focus on something at least a 1/2 mile away (a full moon is great)and use a loupe to be sure it's focused. Lock down the standard and move the stops up to it.
I'm not sure whre the front standard falls on the century when
focusing with a 65mm. I have an 80mm on a Pacemaker 2x3 and had to
put the stop behind the standard. In this case you pull the
standard out, flip up the stop and push the standard back.
