I have a Pacemaker Crown Graphic 45 with the 152mm
Kodak Ektar lens and side mounted Hugo Meyer
rangefinder. The focus scale seems to be the correct
one for this camera, but the rangefinder has always
seemed to be a bit off. I could, for example, get the
infinity setting right by twisting the eccentric rider
cam on the rear track of the camera, but the near
distances would be wrong, etc. I got it close and
simply ignored it.
I then came upon the instructions in this website and
tried to implement them. No luck so far. Setting the
camera for 36 inches as the near focus calibration
setting seems a bit close, but I can get the
rangefinder to match by using the lower hex-head screw
as per the instructions. However, the infinity setting
is now so far off that no amount of adjustment by the
upper adjustment screw will get it in line.
Any advise from the folks here? Has anyone gotten their
Hugo Meyer to work from 3 feet to infinity using the
instructions found in the FAQ of this newsgroup?
Any input would be appreciated.
