Occasionally, you will still have a slight mildew oder after
cleaning. Put the parts in a ZIPLOCK plastic bag with a few Old
Time Moth Balls. Let the parts sit for a few days to a week, then
air them out. This trick has worked for several items I have added
to my collection. Do not use Moth balls with Lenses or optics
!!!(might cause problems with coatings)
