Actually, Graflex made an accessory focussing back
for use with the roll-format Polaroid back. It was
called "focusing panel for Graphic Polaroid Back."
This consists of a well-made wooden box body, painted matte black with finger-jointed corners, approximately 1 3/4" deep. One end is open and has the proper grooves for being locking in place by the Grafloc back clips. The other end has what appears to be the ground glass back from a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Graphic camera, permanently fixed in place.
The thing was used like this: Bring your lens out to the regular infinity stops as usual, bur remove the regular ground glass back and replace it with this thing. Focus on the extended ground glass that the panel provides. Then, remove the panel and replace with the bulky Polaroid back. Perfect focus.
I have one of these things, in its original box, along with the ungainly Polaroid back. It's very well crafted and in mint condition. For the record, the catalog number of this part is 9288.
My old Graphic also has a second set of infinity stops for those wanting to use the Polaroid back with rangefinder focussing.
