I tested MY Graflex Strobomatic 500 and and Graflite 250 found the following voltages across the sync cord:
Graflex 500 head 133Vdc
Graflite 250 head 234Vdc
Older mechanical cameras "should" have no problem with these
voltages. The same may not be true for the more modern electronic
cameras.
According to the WEB site many cameras can handle up to 250vdc
while others can be dammaged by voltages as low as 6vdc. They
mention a device the Wein Safe Sync which will drop high voltages
to only 6vdc. You might want to check this site out. Also Check
with your camera manufacturer or camera shop about the MAX voltage
for your camera
