Miles,

I will E-mail you an "Instant" manual,
typed excerpts from the Graflex Strobomatic 500 Guidebook. Should provide you with information on the general use of the unit.

As for spikes etc. this unit is electrically isolated from the wall voltage via a transformer and other electrical componants. I have used this unit with all types of older mechanical cameras (Nikon F, Mamiya 330)with no problems. To the best of my kowledge the sync on this unit operates electrically the same as most higher powered units.
The question should be asked to the camera manufacturer if there are any dangers from strobe units.
One option is to use the SLave option on the 500 Lamphead and use the strobe you have with your camera as a trigger. This would totally isolate the camera from the Graflex 500.
Hope this Helps
Carl
