Robert,
I have had good luck replacing batteries in Graflex Strobe units
but have not actually done any Honeywell units. I have a Strobonar
800 with a dummy battery tray. This unit only works with a HV
battery or AC. Looks like the battery tray is made to take 4 Sub C
size batteries (do not have the bump on top like a normal C). Now
the question to you is are they drop in or soldered in place ? To
open the battery case squeeze the two ribbed tabs on the right and
left of the rear of the head, the battery case should slide
out.
Hopefully you will see if the batteries are readily removable and
be able to check the size.
Batteries America has Sub c NiCads and Nickle Metal Hydride
rechargables. The Nickle Metal Hydrides are much better, more
power, and no "memory". NiCads have a problem of not taking a full
charge if not fully discharged before recharging, they only
recharge to the level they "remember" they were stored at (simple
explanation).
Hope this Helps
Carl
