Almost, but not quite, true. Acquisitions editors get pretty tight with their defenses, and pretty cautious, but newspaper editors don't deal with that problem a lot... mostly working with staff writers.
My measly pittance comes to me in exchange for being city editor at a medium-sized weekly newspaper. Most of my colleagues don't consider what they do special enough to brag about it. Nor do they usually talk about how educated they are. They choose their fights carefully because they've had to pick enough (with city managers, county commissioners, company executives, etc) to know what a pain in the afterburner it is -- so you don't see them slinging random insults at total strangers on a board. They edit profanities out of letters to the editor that they receive, so they generally don't carp about other people controling their own media; and dropping Jane Austen's name to let everybody know how erudite they are is something any journalist worth a dig'em smack would be ashamed of.
What we have here is a fella who is editor of his high school newspaper and a member of the German club. He probably got mad 'cos the censor wouldn't let him talk about movie props.
Sorry for the rant. And thanks for keeping the board normal enough for people like me to get information off of it without having to wade through the other stuff. I for one appreciate the (expletive deleted) out of it.
