Not everyone agrees that the plastic 545i is an improvement over the metal 545 (unless weight is of prime importance to you.) The 405 back will allow you to use the 6xx series 2.25x3.25" Polaroid pack films. They are a little smaller, but less expensive that the 6x series for the 545. Another disadvantage of the pack films is that once you've loaded and opened a pack, you have to use the whole pack before loading another, whereas the individual sheets for the 545 can be swapped at will.
