: Now for my question. I've just acquired a beautiful
: Pacemaker Speed Grafic from 1947 (judging from the
: lens). Its a 127mm Kodak. The problem is, how do you
: get to use the movements on the camera with a lens
: like this? Focussed at infinity, the lensboard isn't
: far out of the box. It needs to be quite a way out of
: the box before you can comfortably use the movements.
: Or am I missing something. Well, of course I am. I'm
: just hoping one of you will tell me what it is!

To those not familiar with Graphics, lenses do not have to be pulled as far as they would assume. Note the recent advertising pictures in which Graphics are used. Note that the lens is racked out much further than is needed. Remember that this is not a view camera and so it does not have the range of tilts, swings, etc of a view camera. On some individual cameras, the lateral shif is a little hard to operate.
